I see subjects that I feel compelled to paint. . .
. . so many things simply demand that I draw them. . .
I consider myself to be visually oriented, because the techniques of painting the third dimension, depth, onto a two dimensional surface allows me to express the deep space, volume, and light and shadow that are important to me as I paint my subjects. I want to draw the viewer into my experience with the subject.
