Welcome to Galveston's Historical Swedish Church
We are excited to announce the creation of The Swedish Church Heritage Society, Galveston. The sole
purpose is to work as a non-profit basis to support the preservation of our Swedish Heritage and Landmarks in Galveston and Texas at large, especially the renovation, restoration, and historical integrity of the property known as “The Swedish Church” located in the East End Historical District, on the corner of 18th and Market Street in Galveston, TX
We have already held several Swedish Heritage Days at the Church property, and held a fantastic St. Lucia Program (Luciadagen) on Dec. 3, 2004 in conjunction with the East End Historic Society Christmas Tour. There has has also been a Swedish christening and many wedding this at the newly re-opened building.
The property is now under new ownership - Jon and Kelly Charon. They have already spent hours of restoration in the front and back buildings and plan to reopen to the public in 2007.
Thank you again for bringing your dedication to support the restoration and preservation of our Swedish Heritage and Swedish Landmarks in Galveston.
We still have a long way to go with the total renovation, but these events, plus your generous donations are spurring us on with our Love Equity.
The Swedish Church Heritage Society, Galveston, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and contributions are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
